Insiders with Donald Trump’s transition team have reportedly said that he has offered the deputy national security adviser position to K.T. McFarland, who has worked under three previous Republican administrations.

President-elect Donald Trump has reportedly selected his deputy national security adviser.
According to Bloomberg, insiders have said that Trump offered the position to K.T. McFarland.
McFarland has worked in a national security capacity under three previous Republican administrations--those headed by Presidents Nixon, Ford, and Reagan. She was also part of Dr. Henry Kissinger’s team in the early to mid-1970s.
In addition to her experience, McFarland is said to share Trump’s tough approach to foreign policy, particularly in terms of what she considers to be Islamic threats.
Trump has already announced that Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn would be his national security adviser, notes the New York Times.
