Obama makes final Thanksgiving turkey pardon

Barack Obama got the holiday mood started at the White House on Wednesday with the traditional pardoning of the national Thanksgiving turkey. It was president’s last turkey reprieve.

The lighthearted ceremony in the Rose Garden, filled with Presidential puns, featured Iowa-raised turkeys Tater and Tot. Both birds will be sent to their new home in Virginia where they will be cared for by veterinarians and students.

The White House even provided a biography for each bird. For example, Tater’s favorite snack is worms while Tot prefers tomato slices.
