Thomas Mair has been sentenced for life in prison after being found guilty of murdering British politician Jo Cox in a street attack in England in June 2016. The 53-year-old extremist and Nazi sympathizer was found guilty of murder, possession of a firearm with intent to harm, and possession of an offensive weapon. The Labour MP, who was in support of the UK remaining part of the EU, was stabbed and shot to death by Mair only a week before Britain voted on whether to remain in the European Union. During the attack, Mair shouted “this is for Britain” and “keep Britain independent.”
