Argentine President Mauricio Macri reportedly revealed that his congratulatory call to Donald Trump included conversation with Ivanka Trump.
Argentine President Mauricio Macri revealed that his congratulatory call to Donald Trump included conversation with Ivanka Trump, reports The Hill.
Macri disclosed the information during a November 18 interview with The Asahi Shimbun.
When asked what his discussion with the U.S. president-elect involved, Macri told reporters, “We promised to establish the best bilateral relations ever...I also talked with his daughter. I have known her since her infant days.”
According to a spokesperson for Macri, the leader, “spoke with Ivanka only briefly to say hello...”
Nonetheless, the fact that they spoke at all is unsettling for many concerned about conflicts of interest between Trump's office and his commercial dealings.
Though Trump has said that he will hand the company’s management over to his children, they have been involved in his presidential transition, during which high-level appointments are made.
