Tesla officially acquires SolarCity

Billionaire Elon Musk's Tesla Motors has officially acquired SolarCity, a solar energy company founded by his cousins Lyndon and Peter Rive. The acquisition of SolarCity will help Tesla develop more solar energy powered products, especially in light of Tesla's recent solar tile roof launch. Tesla and SolarCity coming together will also help with Musk's "Master Plan," which is to provide customers with a means of producing, storing and consuming their own energy.
