Deer takes out cross-country runner during collegiate race

CENTER VALLEY, PENNSYLVANIA — After constantly getting run off roads by pesky humans, Bambi has finally had enough and she’s showing no mercy.

The unsuspecting victim was 21-year-old college senior Justin DeLuzio, who was competing in his last five-mile race as a cross-country runner for NCAA Division III Gwynedd Mercy University.

DeLuzio and the other runners were barely a mile in when a bunch of deer came charging into the lines.

In a video taken of the incident, someone is heard screaming for the runners to watch out for the deer. The warning was a few seconds too late, though, and one white-tailed deer is seen ramming DeLuzio in the stomach. He is lifted off his feet and sent crashing to the ground.

Luckily, he wasn’t seriously hurt, just sore and badly bruised. He eventually finished the race with a bit of help from his teammates, reports Fox Sports.
