Jesse Jackson is asking President Obama to grant Hillary Clinton a “preemptive full pardon” before he leaves office in January.

The request came during Jackson’s address to a crowd gathered at the University of Michigan.

That happens to be the alma mater of President Gerald Ford, who pardoned Richard Nixon in an effort to help the nation heal and move forward.

Jackson referenced that act in his appeal to put an end to the Clinton investigations, noting, “President Ford said we don't need him for trophy…(Ford) did it because he thought it would be best for the country.”

He continued, “"Hillary Clinton has not been tried, but there are those who want to drag her for the next three years. It will not stop until they find a reason to put her in jail. That would be a travesty."
