Election Day this time around proved especially stressful for many, but those seeking relief could follow the example of George W. Bush and Laura Bush.
On November 8, they adopted a puppy from the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center, a Dallas SPCA outpost.
Upon welcoming the cute little dog named Freddy, the former president took to Facebook and suggested, “If you could use a little extra joy in your life, consider adopting a pet from an animal shelter or rescue group.”
He also noted, “We already love him, and even our cats Bob and Bernadette are finding Freddy’s charm futile to resist.”
