This week, Fred Phelps, the founder of the Westboro Baptist Church passed away. Fred Phelps was an American pastor who headed the Westboro Baptist Church, an independent Baptist church based in Topeka, Kansas. The church is known for its extremely anti-gay protests at public events including military funerals. Fred Phelps may have been excommunicated from the Westboro Church in 2013, although church officials refuse to discuss membership. Also, did you know that there are only 20 people or so in this "church"? Crazy, right? Are you happy to see this guy gone? Do you feel any pity for him? Do you think the actions of the Westboro Baptist church should be protected by free speech or is some speech so hateful that they should be outlawed?
