Allan Donato from the Philippines symbolizes the energy and drive that has turned the Philippines into one of the world's top freelancing country. After graduating as an engineer, Allan spent the first nine years of his career working for telecommunications and IT companies in the Philippines and the Middle East. In 2009, while working overseas, he started freelancing part time and in 2011, he finally made the plunge, giving up his job and returning home to work as a freelancer on a full time basis. It continued to flourish and, after two years he joined forces with his wife Edna, they started hiring others and formally established their own IT consulting and outsourcing company that now employs dozens of others.
