Prince Harry tells media to lay off on girlfriend Meghan Markle in unusual new statement

LONDON — After a lifetime of being subject to public scrutiny, Prince Harry finally broke his silence with an unusual statement, blasting the press for its coverage on his new girlfriend, Meghan Markle.

According to the statement, the 32-year-old prince has been seriously dating the American actress for two months. During that time, British tabloids have been rolling out articles detailing the American actress’ divorced status and ‘exotic’ biracial DNA, a far cry from Harry’s usual society blonde preferences.

The actress, who stars in the TV show Suits, has also been getting hit with racist and sexist jabs from commenters and social media trolls.

Paparazzi have been hounding anyone related to Markle, at one point harassing her mother outside the woman’s L.A. home, and offering her ex-boyfriend large bribes.

After the actress’ steamy TV scenes also appeared on X-rated website PornHub. A UK newspaper wrote a piece on the story and put it on the publication’s front page.

The statement further mentions legal battles to keep defamatory articles from being published, and was reportedly written with the hope that members of the press “pause and reflect before any further damage is done.”

Whether or not the media actually complies with the prince’s request remains to be seen.
