Satan affects people in different ways, faith dispels his effect

ADNAN OKTAR: Satan affects people in many various ways. Among these effects, one of the worst is the sense of inertness. Believers should counter it through their will and wisdom. Satan dulls the brain and causes forgetfulness. In other words, he distorts the functions, the electrical structure of the brain. The believers overcome this system through their will. Satan seeks to impede the mind. His most effective method to accomplish this is causing a sense of inertness. It can be readily seen in the eyes of many people. It causes an idle, dull look. Believers are like hawks. They will never give into satan’s such influence. Thus, forgetfulness does not occur. Otherwise, intense forgetfulness, and impaired reasoning and judgment occur. At that point, the individual becomes highly emotional which impairs their ability to reason and judge. If you pay attention, when people quarrel with their families, their sense of judgment and reasoning completely vanishes. In slang terms, they start to babble. Their tone becomes strange. Their logic becomes distorted. They stop talking in accordance with the Quran. They deviate from the path of the Quran. The more they deviate, the more impaired their sense of reasoning and judgment becomes. The more they become impaired, the worse the individual's demeanor becomes. And this usually ends in murder, may God forbid. In other words, the individual goes haywire. However, the believers do not allow this in the first place. Believers never allow satan's influence to get a hold on them. Satan can lead a Muslims to the point of killing or being killed. May God forbid it. He can completely perplex a weaker mind. Believers are naive creatures. When believers hold on dearly to the Quran, they are, in a sense, holding on to an unsinkable ship. They are holding on to an unsinkable ship that never strays from its path, so this way, the believers never deviate. But they have to hold dearly on the Quran, and never let go.

When a person becomes emotional, he should realize that he is under satan's influence. What they should immediately do is to retain poise and a level-head, and hold on dearly to the Quran and God. They should not give in to inaction, because once they board the ship of satan, he drags them down to the bottom of the sea, and does not let them go until they are completely drowned and broken. Then the satan says, "I merely invited you; did I compel you in anyway? I did not. I merely invited you and you accepted my invitation."
