The Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group (GSM) of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly is a forum through which MPs from NATO Member States and MPs from Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) countries can meet to discuss political and security issues and promote cooperation. This forum provides a very valuable opportunity for dialogue with countries in the Mediterranean area that are not members of NATO. By convention, the forum is held annually in Italy, and, over time, has become a permanent committee. (28.10.16)
