Gawker and Hulk Hogan reach $31 million settlement

Gawker Media agreed to settle a lawsuit with former professional wrestler Hulk Hogan on Wednesday. The settlement ends all appeal from Gawker, which lost an invasion of privacy case against Hogan earlier this year and, as a result, declared bankruptcy. As with any negotiation for resolution, all parties have agreed it is time to move on. In March, a Florida jury awarded Hogan more than $140 million in damages after it found that Gawker violated his privacy by publishing a sex tape of him and his friend’s wife.
