Trump-Pence campaign jet skids off runway in scary NYC LaGuardia landing

NEW YORK CITY — Republican Vice Presidential nominee Mike Pence’s plane had a rough landing in New York Thursday night, no thanks to some bad weather and a slippery runway.

The New York Times reports that a Boeing 737 campaign plane carrying Pence and 47 others touched down at LaGuardia Airport around 7:15 p.m., during a bout of heavy rain.

The aircraft skidded off the runway, tearing through an arrestor bed — a form of crushable concrete— before finally slowing to a stop near a grassy area.

Pence and everyone else on the plane were unharmed, though the incident caused runway closures and flight suspensions for the next couple of hours.

Trump, ever the drama queen, announced Pence was alright after being close to ‘grave, grave danger,’ and even Hillary took to Twitter to express her relief.
