Sotomayor said, regardless of their differing opinions and frequent disagreements, losing him was like saying goodbye to a family member.
She also noted, “There are things he’s said on the bench where if I had a baseball bat, I might have used it.”
Scalia passed 8 months ago and his seat remains open, a vacancy Sotomayor says has threatened the efficacy of the court, notes CBS News.

She commented, “It’s much more difficult for us to do our job if we are not what we’re intended to be - a court of nine.”
