10 Homes That Not Even A Trip To Home Depot Would Help

Every house has its unique quirks, but most won't spring their surprises on their owners until they've already signed the paperwork and moved in. Usually you have live there to find out all the ways it's going to inconvenience you and all the repairs and upgrades you'll have to make. It's especially fun after moving into a house formerly owned by a DIYer. My house, once owned by a "handy" man, came with a light fixture not connected to a switch, so it never turns off, and outdoor pot lights that also weren't connected to a switch, but had to be plugged into an outlet. And that was just the start.

For these houses, however, the areas that need improvement should be pretty obvious. In fact, they shouldn't have happened in the first place. What were the builders thinking?!
