Melania Trump Demands Apology, Threatens To Sue Over People Story

Melania Trump is demanding an apology and threatening to sue over parts of a People story published on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, People published a story by the outlet's writer, Natasha Stoynoff, in which she claims that Donald Trump forcibly kissed her while she was on an on-site assignment interviewing Donald and Melania.
In response to the piece, according to a tweet from Melania's Twitter account on Thursday afternoon, a letter has been sent to the writer and People's Editor-in-Chief by a law firm representing Melania.
In the letter, Melania's lawyer Charles Harder writes that parts of the story as told by Stoynoff are false and demands those to be removed along with printing a "prominent retraction and apology."
The disputed portions included the following and focused on the time after the alleged kissing incident when Stoynoff says she ran into Melania:
"That winter, I actually bumped into Melania on Fifth Avenue, in front of Trump Tower as she walked into the building, carrying baby Barron."
"'Natasha, why don’t we see you anymore?' she asked, giving me a hug."
"I was quiet and smiled, telling her I’d missed her, and I squeezed little Barron’s foot."
Harder notes in the letter, "The true facts are these: Mrs. Trump did not encounter Ms. Stoynoff on the street, nor have any conversation with her. The two are not friends and were never friends or even friendly. At the time in question, Mrs. Trump would not have even recognized Ms. Stoynoff if they had encountered one another on the street.”
Harder threatens to sue and asks for a response within 24 hours. There appears to be no mention of the parts of the story involving Donald in the letter.
