A heartwarming video has emerged of a woman, terrified of driving on a bridge in San Francisco, USA, managing to overcome her fear with the help of a kind police officer.

The footage, shot on September 29, shows Torri Forbes, 39, stuck in her car on Golden Gate bridge, shivering with fear, while a kind policeman offers to follow her as she drives across.

Eventually, she managed to get across.

''Once I saw the massive Golden Gate Bridge, I had to pull over. I wanted to drive over it but my body was shaking so bad and I was scared I would pass out while driving over it,'' she later wrote online.

''I called my two boys to have them talk me through it. They encouraged me, told me I could accomplish it. But I couldn't drive once I saw it I was too scared.''

''Security called over the speaker at the gate entrance and told me to move my vehicle but I couldn't,'' she added.

''A police officer came because I was still parked on the side of the road. He calmed me, told me things I would later repeat over and over to help me as I was crossing while following me with his lights on across the bridge.''

''This is the interview and preparation before I faced my biggest fear, and conquered it,'' she continued.
