It is very important to make Shiites and Sunnis love each other. They are all good Muslims.

ADNAN OKTAR: We should practice making Sunnis and Shiites love each other as a religious duty. Shiites are people who cry when you mention Hazrat Mahdi (as). When you mention Hazrat Hasan (ra), Hazrat Husein (ra), Hazrat Ali (ra), they shed tears. They are saintly people. The hatred towards these people stems from the stern perspective of Sunnis. Shiites are good Muslims. Alevis are good Muslims. Sunnis are good Muslims. This hatred only stems from ignorance and favoritism. It is a meaningless, a pointless hatred. And it is very unseemly. When we go into the mosques of Shiites, we see that they mention Hazrat Mahdi (as) and cry. For example the religious leaders of Iran, or be it the president or the vise president, when you mention them Hazrat Mahdi (as), they all shed tears. How can you bare hatred towards a community even the constitution of whom is prepared in accordance with Hazrat Mahdi (as)?  And they still try to join the European Union with such a mentality. These people admire the art, the science of, and the freedom women enjoy in the European Union. But these bigots do not want that. They despise statues. They despise paintings. They despise music. They despise low-cut clothes. They despise freedom for women. And? But they claim that they admire Europe, that they want to join the European Union. This is an immense contradiction. Either change your mentality, or explain why you would want to join the European Union, the values of which you do not want to have in your country. Everything you despise is present in Europe. Then why are you so excited to join the European Union. So, it means that you like it, admire it.

In Iraq, the persecution against the Shiites has started with al-Maliki. But if you hate the Shiites; if someone realizes that he is hated, love departs from his heart. Why are you approaching them with hatred? Embrace them. It would be wonderful if Iraq became prosperous. I am baffled by this mentality. For example, they go ahead and burn a Shiite mosque down. Why are you destroying it? One of the places God commands the believers to protect is the mosque, right? You should protect the mosques and synagogues. Synagogues, mosques and churches should never be destroyed, burned down. God commands you to protect them.
