Toad and tarantula sit on chairs to 'protest against deforestation'

A bizarre video has emerged of a cane toad and a goliath bird eating tarantula "sitting on tiny chairs" in a stunt performed by an anti-deforestation activist.

The footage, shot by Arteval Duarte on Friday, shows the 'Ninja of Serpents' sitting the toad and the big spider on tiny, custom-made chairs.

The animals remain surprisingly still until he takes them off the chairs and allows them to walk away calmly.

Duarte wrote online that the animals are "sitting on chairs making a protest against the deforestation of the Amazon, and will sit until 2030 waiting for deforestation to be over".
