Microlight crashes into field after losing power

Shocking footage of a microlight aircraft crashing shortly after take-off, after one of the fuel lines ruptures causing it to lose power.

The video, filmed at the start of a flight from Scotland to Northumberland, UK on September 20, shows the mini helicopter taking off, but the pilot quickly runs into trouble and plunges into a field.

"There was not enough height to make a safe landing in the field ahead so the aircraft was turned to the left to land on the already harvested part of the field," the filmer wrote online.

"The aircraft was then caught by a 15 mph crosswind which kept the aircraft turning until the point of impact."

Fortunately, the pilot wasn't badly injured.
