In a 2015 message to Condoleezza Rice, Powell wrote, “Basic fault falls on a courageous ambassador who thoughts Libyans now love me and I am ok in this very vulnerable place,” referring to J. Christopher Stevens, who died in the attack.
Powell further said, “But blame also rests on his leaders and supports back here. Pat Kennedy, Intel community, DS and yes HRC,” in which HRC refers to Hillary Clinton and DS remains unidentified.
The email was procured by DCLeaks.com, which is believed to have ties to Russia, notes BuzzFeed News.
