Would-be Reagan assassin John Hinckley Jr. freed after 35 years

John Hinckley Jr., would-be Ronald Reagan assassin, was released from a psychiatric hospital on Saturday 35 years after his attempt to assassinate the U.S. president.
The court ordered Hinckley's transition to a gated resort community in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he will live with his 90-year-old mother.
A federal judge in July ordered Hinckley's from St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, alleging that the would-be assassin has recovered and is no longer dangerous, according to medical experts.
Back in 1982, Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity at a trial, diagnosed with depression and psychosis, both mental illnesses of which are now in remission, according to his doctors.
Hinckley opened fire on Reagan outside a Washington, D.C., hotel on March 30, 1981, prompted by a deranged obsession with the actress Jodie Foster.
