It will be the third film in the franchise and a sequel to 2004 film Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. The film will star Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth, returning to their respective roles of Bridget Jones and Mark Darcy, as well as Patrick Dempsey as a new character. Filming officially began on 2 October 2015 in London. The film will be released on 16 September 2016.
