A Change Will Do You Good

(This video was put together with footage taken from my actual sailing trips including my sail from Marina Del Rey California to Miami Florida, and yes that is me flying the plane too)
My apologies for the 240 res video camera. It is what I took on my trip. Some of it was shot on a slightly newer camera but most of it was VHF.
The music track title my last CD of the same name.
The song “A Change Will Do You Good” came together after Hurricane Floyd strafed the Bahamas in the 1999s. It is a culmination of 3 different things.
So about this "coastal Americana or Trop Rock" song.
First, Floyd affected many of my friends and it really got me thinking about what was important in life. Then, there was a man I met that had lost his fortunes overnight to a con man but the man still seemed to be as happy as a man could be. A conversation with him got me thinking about what real happiness is. Eventually, I looked at my own life and all of a sudden, the experiences connected and this song was born.
Christopher Columbus is noted for saying that “Riches never made a man rich, they only made him busier”. (It sounds even better in Italian) It is now one of the mantras I remember every day. The hurricane, the man that lost his riches and the quest for what would give myself honest happiness set my mind rolling and that's all it took to create A Change Will Do You Good.
This song isn’t the likely choice for a title track. It is a slow, deep meaning song without much ability to make your butt move but it was the most obvious direction for the songs I put on the CD. A change WILL do you good!
