Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, has maintained that he is not supporting any candidate in the U.S. presidential election, but he continues to express criticism about Hillary Clinton.

During a recent interview with The New York Times on Facebook Live, he was asked about defending Donald Trump despite his advisors’ reported ties with Russia.

Assange responds, in part, by blaming Hillary Clinton and the Democratic party for “whipping up a neo-McCarthyist hysteria about Russia.”

He goes on to question the media environment that will exist after the election is over before saying that “The American liberal press, in falling over themselves to defend Hillary Clinton, are erecting a demon that is going to put nooses around everyone's necks as soon as she wins the election, which she is almost certainly going to do.”

WikiLeaks released documents about the Democratic National Committee before the party’s convention and has said it will likely share more Clinton-related information before the election.
