Are Tiny Black Holes Flying Into Earth?
Some astronomers believe that the dark matter in the universe may be composed of tiny black holes which may approach Earth at times but are believed to be harmless.

Black holes are believed to form in different sizes, but astronomers have been considering the possibility that tiny versions are flying through space and sometimes towards Earth.

According to a recent Business Insider article, scientists have been trying to identify the contents of the dark matter that composes about 80 percent of the universe.

In May of this year, NASA announced that a member of its team, Alexander Kashlinsky, had presented evidence corroborating the hypothesis that “dark matter is made of black holes formed during the first second of our universe's existence.”

These entities are called primordial black holes which a separate study found could be much smaller around and higher in quantity than the norm.

In fact, Kashlinsky has said that these mini-black holes, should they exist, could be about the width of a human hair strand but still have an enormous weight due to their density.

A paper published in 2011 corroborates the existence of these entities and even argues that one or two of them likely approach Earth on a daily basis.

However, the authors don’t believe a collision with a human would even be noticeable due to the “small amount of energy.”
