Caught on camera, bullying VIP falls prey to mobile activism at Noida traffic signal
A "VIP" threatening a motorist on road to allow him to jump the red light was caught on camera in an act of Internet activism.

Arvind Kejriwal can be credited with spawning a revolution of mobile activism and whistle-blowing, encouraging citizens to do exposé of corrupt officials by secretly recording videos on their mobile phones. In yet another incident of citizen whistle-blowing, a video of a VIP misbehaving with another commuter, posted on Facebook, has gone viral on the Internet. The incident reportedly took place at around 8am on August 24 at Noida’s Sector 57 traffic signal according to the post.
The video shows a man threatening a Sikh motorist on the road, asking him to move to make way for the VIP vehicle to jump the red traffic signal. And admirably, the motorist refuses to budge, pointing at the red signal on the traffic light. The altercation was recorded by Prashant Saxena, who happened to be sitting in a cab, witnessing the event. But Saxena was caught making the video on his phone by the man’s daughter who immediately told her father that he was being filmed. The man is then seen heading for Saxena’s cab, trying to catch hold of the camera.
According to Saxena, he was fortunate that his cab drive drove him off quickly.
This isn’t first time that a citizen has donned the investigative journalist’s hat and attempted a sting operation. The advent of technology and the rise of internet activism has led to rise in such incidents where the culprits are exposed, publicly shamed and made to face the wrath of the social media.
