Purim 5768!!!

(IsraelNN.com) Jews from across the political spectrum gathered in groups throughout Jerusalem to mark the anniversary of the defeat of a genocidal plot aimed to massacre Jews as recorded in the Biblical book of Esther. The plot, hatched by the Persian Prime Minister and sanctioned by law, was foiled by members of the Persian Jewish community through prayer, political activism, and display of force. The intent of the plot was to kill the entire Jewish community and confiscate its assets.

Jews in Susa (Shushan), then the Persian capital, were granted an additional day to root out their enemies. Jerusalem, by virtue of its ancient wall, is one of a handful of cities which celebrates this victory on what is called Shushan Purim.
