For the first time in Cebu Pacific’s history, a baby was born on one of its planes, reports CNN.
As a birthday present, the airline awarded the newborn 1 million airline miles.
The happy event occurred on August 14 about 4 hours after a flight headed for Manila departed Dubai.
According to The Guardian, "Cabin crew found two nurses who helped with the delivery."
Among those surprised by the arrival was the mother, who wasn’t expecting her child to be born for another 5 weeks, notes Time.
During the delivery, the pilot rerouted the flight to Hyderabad, India so the new mom and her child, named Haven, could receive medical attention.
Though that caused about a 9-hour delay in arriving at the destination, a woman on the flight said there were "no complaints."
