Chicago PD suggests dismissal of officers for lying in Laquan McDonald case

Chicago police officials have suggested firing seven officers for lying about the shooting death of Laquan McDonald, a black teenager whose 2014 murder spurred intense protests and a federal investigation into the department.
The suggestion comes after the city’s inspector general delivered a report calling for the officers to be fired.
Following the report's release, police officials and outside attorneys reviewed it and backed the recommendation.
The issue moves on to the Chicago Police Board, which will make a decision in the case.
