Lebanese man shot dead by neighbor who called his family ‘dirty Arabs’

TULSA, OKLAHOMA — 37-year-old Khalid Jabara died August 12 at his family home in Oklahoma by a racist neighbor who’d returned from jail after running his mother over less than a year earlier. He had earlier referred to the Jabara’s as “dirty Arabs”, the family says.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, but got free on bond in May and returned home next door. When the Jabara family found out he was back and armed with a gun, they contacted police, who said nothing could be done. Shortly afterward, Khalid Jabara went outside to pick up the mail, and that’s when he was shot and killed by Majors.

Upon his arrest, Majors confessed to the crime and called the family “filthy lebanese.” He will face charges of first-degree murder.
