McCarron hit on 11 of 16 throws for 125 yards and a touchdown to secure his backup role with the team. The Bengals defense held the Vikings to just 56 rushing yards on 25 carries.

Detroit is 1-0 on the preseason with the 30-17 road victory to the Pittsburgh Steelers as a +3 point underdog. The game went over the total of 35 points. The Lions were able to outgain the Steelers by 192 yards. Dan Orlovsky looks to keep his backup job with the team by going 16 of 25 for 164 yards with a touchdown and pick. The offense finished with 284 passing yards and they ran for 95 on 27 carries. Andre Roberts caught five balls for 57 yards and a touchdown.
