The San Diego Chargers are headed to the road to meet the Tennessee Titans in a week one NFL preseason football game on Saturday.

Notes: The Chargers look to turn around from a 4-12 campaign in 2015 as the team was in the basement of the AFC West. They struggled stopping the run last year on defense ranking 27th. Phillip Rivers returns at quarterbacks and will see a series or two. Veteran Kellen Clemens is an experienced backup as he enters his 11th year in the league. He has started 21 games in the league. He has seen mop up work in four games the past two seasons. Zach Mettenberger will compete for the backup job after spending his first two seasons in the league at Tennessee where he started 10 games. Rookie Mike Bercovici from Arizona St will try and earn a roster spot.

Tennessee was the last place team in the AFC South in 2015 with a record of 3-13. They had the 30th ranked offense in the league a year ago. Marcus Mariota returns for his second year in the league under center. Veteran Matt Cassel is the backup after serving the same role in Dallas last year where he started seven games. He is a 12 year veteran in the NFL. Alex Tanney a has bounced around practice squads the past four years in competing for a roster spot.
