The Washington Redskins are headed to the road in week one of the preseason to meet the Atlanta Falcons in an NFL pro football exhibition game on Thursday.

Start Time: 7PM ET

Location: Atlanta

TV: NFL Network Delayed Coverage

NFL Point Spread Odds: Falcons -3

Money Line: Atlanta -150 odds and Redskins +130 odds

Over Under Total: 37 points

Notes: Week one games often see first string players compete in a series or two. Starting quarterback Kirk Cousins will see very limited action. There is experience in the backup in Colt McCoy who begins his seventh year in the league. He has started a total of 25 games in the league. Third string quarterback Nate Sudfeld is a rookie and put up monster numbers in the air in his years in college at Indiana. The team needs to improve on the 28th ranked defense a season ago.

The Falcons will have veteran Matt Ryan under center in the opener. Veteran Matt Schaub returns to Atlanta and will be the backup. This will be his thirteenth season in the league and saw two starts a season ago with the Ravens. Matt Simms and Sean Renfree are also in camp. Simms has bounced around the league as a backup since he came into the league in 2012. Renfree out of Duke begins his fourth season as a backup for the Falcons. Atlanta moved the football last season but must do better in the red zone and come away with more points.
