Cardinals playmaker Tyrann Mathieu receives 5-year extension

Tyrann Mathieu is being rewarded with a five-year, $62.5 million extension that includes $40 million guaranteed. The $40 million guaranteed is the largest for an NFL safety. Mathieu has been one of the best defenders, but injuries have taken a toll on his career. The 24-year-old made the Pro Bowl in 2015 and was named first team All-Pro in 2013 and 2015.
