During an appearance on Wednesday, Donald Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort announced on 'CBS This Morning' that the presidential candidate will not be making his taxes available for public perusal.
Doing so has been a tradition among those in the final stage of seeking the high office since the days of Watergate, notes MSNBC.
As explanation, Manafort said, “Mr. Trump has said that his taxes are under audit and he will not be releasing them.”
Back in February, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen had noted that an audit does not prohibit the return from being shared.
Some speculate Trump is attempting to conceal financial dealings with Russia.
On that matter, Manafort said, “It has nothing to do with Russia, it has nothing to do with any country other than the United States and his normal tax auditing process.”
