LONDON — There was a storm of storm on social media when many Brits misspelled their new prime minister’s name.
Thousands of Twitter users have mistakenly been tweeting about Teresa May, a UK glamour model, who has starred in various pornographic films and has been on the cover of magazines like Hustler.
The jokes were endless. In since deleted posts, one user wrote, “I’m sure we can all get behind our new leader …” Another joked in response to the porn star’s tweet about selling images, “Hopefully this lady’s doing a roaring trade.”
The confusion resulted in a massive increase of followers for the model’s Twitter handle @RealTeresaMay.
Unfortunately for fans, the real prime minister, Theresa May, spelled with an “H,” has never bared her rear end or offered topless signed selfies for sale.
