According to a Facebook post from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the individual, “…had placed items into a basket attached to the front of a gray scooter and tried to leave without paying for the merchandise.”
An employee attempted to stop the alleged robbery, but the man used the small vehicle to push her back and hold her against a wall.
Two bystanders helped to free the woman, but the suspect was able to flee the store on the scooter and evade capture.
He is described as a mustached, brown-haired Caucasian man in his 40s or 50s.
