According to the Deccan Chronicle, the incident occurred last week when the deadly snakes tried to enter the house of the dog's owners in Sebekapur village.
However, the reptiles soon encountered the canine who reportedly battled them in a long and bloody fight.
The dog ultimately succeeded in killing all four cobras--and protecting the eight-person family inside--but died shortly thereafter due to snake bites.
The head of the household has since publicly expressed his gratitude towards the animal saying, "He has made the supreme sacrifice for me and my family. I will remember him till our death."
