Woman Suffers Fatal 400 Foot Grand Canyon Fall

A woman from Orlando, Florida was enjoying an early morning view of the Grand Canyon on Friday when she lost her footing and suffered a fatal fall.
A woman from Orlando, Florida was enjoying an early morning view of the Grand Canyon on Friday when she lost her footing and suffered a fatal fall, reports the Arizona Daily Sun.
Just prior to the incident, 35-year-old Colleen Burns and her travel companions were taking photos of the sun rising over Ooh Aah Point, which is situated along the South Kaibab Trail.
According to a friend, they were moving out of the way for other tourists when Burns, “…kind of got tripped up on her own feet and fell backwards.”
Rangers later found her body about 400 feet below the observation area.
Both the local medical examiner and the National Park Service are looking further into the incident.
