Eric Cantona launches spoof bid for the English managerial position

Football legend Eric Cantona launched a spoof tongue-in-cheek bid to fill the vacant England managerial position on Friday (July 1) in a light-hearted Eurosport video.

The France and Manchester United former star appeared in the video wearing an England shirt, listing a multitude of reasons he should be considered for the role, including removing striker Harry Kane from corner duties and temporarily changing his title from 'Eric the King' to 'Eric the Boss'.

The video was the latest in a series produced by the television channel Eurosport in which Cantona discusses topics from the ongoing Euro 2016 tournament.

England soccer coach Roy Hodgson's four-year reign came to an abrupt end after their shock 2-1 defeat by underdogs Iceland at the Euro 2016 round of 16 stage on Monday (June 27). The English FA have yet to name a replacement.
