Obama Immigration Plan blocked by 4-4 tie at Supreme Court

A tie vote by the Supreme Court Thursday blocked President Obama’s immigration plan that sought to shield millions living in the U.S. illegally from deportation, effectively killing the plan that would become one of his central legacies.
As a result, as many as five million undocumented immigrants will not be shielded from deportation or allowed to legally work in the United States.
Obama lamented that the 4-4 tie by the Supreme Court and called the decision “heartbreaking for the millions of immigrants who made their lives here.”
Presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton immediately blasted the decision and vowed to revive the programs or work with the new Congress on comprehensive immigration legislation, if elected.
"Today's deadlocked decision from the Supreme Court is unacceptable, and show us all just how high the stakes are in this election," she said.
