Supreme Court Declines Plea Seeking Salman’s Bail Cancellation
In a big relief for actor Salman Khan in the 2002 hit-and-run case, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition seeking cancellation of bail granted to him in the case by the Bombay High Court. The petition was filed by Sushila Himmatrao Patil, mother of Ravinder Patil, a police constable who was Salman's bodyguard at the time when the 2002 accident took place. Patil died in 2007. In her petition, Sushila prayed to the court that she be made a party in the case and also challenged Salman Khan's bail. On May 8, the high court suspended the 5-year sentence of Khan in the case and granted him bail pending his appeal against conviction. For more Bollywood news, tune into our channel.
