The Patients Who Climb Trees- Treating Pediatric Injuries

Higher and higher kids scramble up the trees - to catch the last fruits at the end of the dry season. Inside the operating theater of Aweil State hospital, anaesthetic nurse Armelle Vanderhagen explains the injuries sustained by patients who arrive.

Since 2008, in the north of South Sudan, MSF has been running the pediatric and maternity departments in the Ministry of Health hospital (Aweil State Hospital) in Aweil. It is the only hospital for a population of more than 100,000 in Aweil town and over 1 million people in the whole state.
