Dharmendra Celebrates His 80th Birthday Today | Happy Birthday
One of the biggest stars of Indian Cinema, who is also known as Macho-Man and He-Man of Bollywood, Dharmendra turns 80 today. Born in Punjab on 8th December 1935, Dharmendra is a charming, versatile and evergreen actor, producer, and politician. His original name is Dharam Singh Deol and he is also known as Dharam Paaji. He always wanted to enter into the filmy world, and made his Bollywood debut with movie Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere in 1960. After his debut, he was seen in many women oriented movies as a supporting actor between 1960-1968, where he worked with actresses like Nutan, Mala Sinha, Saira Banu and Meena Kumari. Later he became an established action hero from movie Mera Gaon Mera Desh in 1971. His comic timings in movies like Tum Haseen Main Jawan, Do Chor, Chupke Chupke, Dillagi, Naukar Biwi Ka were appreciated. The actor’s most successful pairing was with Hema Malini, who later became his future wife. This couple acted in many movies like Raja Jani, Seeta Aur Geeta, Jugnu, Sholay, Charas, Chacha Bhatija and many more. Well, Dharam Paaji married to Prakash Kaur in 1954 and has two sons Sunny and Bobby. In 1980 he converted to Islam to marry actress Hema Malini as his first wife refused to grant him divorce. His legal name after changing religion is Delawar Khan. He has two daughters with Hema Malini, Esha and Ahana. Later in 1997, he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Hindi cinema. Well, on his special day, we wish this real hero a very happy birthday.
