ORLANDO, FLORIDA — The wife of Orlando gunman Omar Mateen could face criminal charges for failing to warn authorities about his plan to carry out a mass shooting that left 49 people dead.

Federal prosecutors have convened a grand jury to investigate what Noor Zahi Salman knew before the attack at Pulse, a gay nightclub, on Sunday, sources told Fox News.

Salman is the second wife of ISIS-inspired mass shooter Mateen, who may also be a repressed homosexual. Mateen is responsible for killing 49 people and injuring 53 others in the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

Salman told the FBI she tried to talk her husband out of carrying out the attack, NBC News reported.

Authorities said Salman was initially reluctant to spill the beans under questioning. However, she began to cooperate after she was shown CCTV footage of the couple in several locations around Orlando, ABC News reported.

Salman admitted that she was with her husband when he recently bought a gun holster and ammunition. The couple also went to the Disney World area recently, but it’s unknown if that was a family trip or if the park was a possible terror target.

Salman told federal agents she once drove her husband to Pulse nightclub so that he could check it out, according to NBC News.

Salman was married to Mateen, 29, for 3½ years, Mateen's father, Seddique Mateen, told ABC News.

She could be charged as an accessory to 49 counts of murder, 53 counts of attempted murder and failing to report her husband’s plans, according to Fox News.

Salman has taken a polygraph test, but the results were not yet known, according to ABC News.
