Diabetes Research Uncovers Gene inked to Obesity And Lessen Diabetes Symptoms (Lean Gene)
Researchers at a University in Edinburgh Scotland, discovered an activating protein found in fat cells seemed to lessen the symptoms of diabetes in mice bred to be overweight. While researching genes linked to obesity, researchers found a particular gene that produces a protein that improves sensitivity to insulin in mice. The protein, TST, produced by a gene of the same name, detoxifies harmful waste products that accumulate in fat cells.
