Home beckons for America's floating military fortress in Med

The 5,500-strong crew aboard the nuclear-powered USS Truman aircraft carrier, deployed in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, is engaged in the campaign against so-called Islamic State (IS) jihadists. The Truman was supposed to be on its way home to Norfolk, Virginia by now but its mission was extended by President Barack Obama for an extra month as part of efforts to intensify the campaign.
